ACT Medical attends 2022 Trauma Care Conference

ACT Medical’s Managing Director and Head of Product recently journeyed up to Stoke to attend this year’s Trauma Care Conference.

Organised by the Trauma Care Charity, this year marked the 25th Anniversary of the annual conference.

The full weeklong programme included over 200 presentations from a diverse range of inspirational healthcare professionals.

About Trauma Care

Trauma Care was created to address the need to standardise best clinical practice in the management of trauma.

The charity was founded in 1996 by Prof Ian Greaves, Prof Jim Ryan and Sir Keith Porter.

The organisation aims to improve patient outcomes by establishing best practice throughout the whole chain of care.

This goal is achieved via education, research and publishing.

Key takeaways for ACT Medical

We learnt a lot from the conference. Attending key talks on the future of trauma research, advancements in military trauma and trauma nursing expanded our understanding of the complexities involved in responding to trauma events.

Talks regarding Youth Violence also broadened our understanding of the social landscape surrounding knife crime, and reinforced some of the incredible work that is being done to reduce violence in our society.

This ties into our mission, ‘to stop fatalities from violence-induced uncontrolled haemorrhage’ and we feel invigorated to continue our journey to revolutionise the management of bleeding.

We also had the opportunity to connect with key opinion leaders, whose insights and feedback are invaluable as we continue the development of our haemorrhage control device.

  • ACT Medical’s award-winning medical device aims to save the lives of stabbing victims by stemming bleeding from knife wounds. Follow ACT Medical on LinkedIn for latest updates or email hello@actmedical.co.uk to speak to us directly.
