ACT Medical in conversation with Dr Peter Lax

Whilst at the London Trauma Conference ACT Medical’s Head of Product Emma had the pleasure of speaking to ACT advisor Dr Peter Lax. Pete has recently been awarded The Lady Cade Medal and is the author of The Textbook of Acute Trauma Care.

The Lady Cade Medal is awarded to a Medical Office who has made a significant advance to the practice of medicine, specifically recognising those who contribute to the capabilities of the Royal Air Force. Pete’s years of dedication to Trauma Care, culminating in the publication of The Textbook of Acute Trauma Care was described by the RAF Medical Services Awards Board as “an outstanding example of this type of advance, [it] epitomises the exemplary qualities of a deserved recipient of this award”.

Emma was able to chat with Pete about all things trauma care, exploring his varied career across civilian and military organisations within the UK and the US; and touching on the difficulty of treating junctional haemorrhage.
